Senior Botanist/Plant Ecologist H. T. Harvey & Associates is a premier ecological consulting firm based in California and Hawai‘i. For over 40 years, H. T. Harvey has created ecologically sound solutions to our clients’ complex natural resource challenges. We have an immediate opening in our Hawai‘i office for a full or part-time senior botanist to conduct and direct field studies. The work is varied and includes but is not limited to rare and threatened and endangered species plant surveys, habitat mapping, wetland assessments and delineations; natural resource management planning (habitat management plans, conservation plans); restoration planning (e.g. wetland and rare plant restoration); preparation and processing of environmental impact analyses, resource agency permits; development of endangered species mitigation plans, habitat conservation plans, and safe harbor agreements; and pure research. Graduate degree(s) in plant sciences strongly preferred with five years of applicable experience in Hawai‘i required. Hawai‘i plant taxonomy and ecology, quantitative sampling and statistical analysis are necessary. Knowledge of NEPA/HEPA/ESA, Section 404/401 and strong understanding of resource agency requirements and negotiation skills are also required.
