Freeman Seabird Preserve
Field Season begins January 7, 2017

Freeman Seabird Preserve Habitat Restoration 2017 has begun!

Our goals include, but are not limited to, clearing and stabilizing the paths, removing invasive plants, trimming hedges and maintaining Wedge-tailed Shearwater burrows. We made a good start on January 7 and will continue efforts every Saturday morning until the birds return from the sea in mid-to-late March.

Returning volunteers are welcome to walk to FSP via the pedestrian gate on Black Point Road on Saturdays between 9am-12pm. Earlier entry to the Preserve may be available as the season progresses.

As of Saturday Jan. 21, we will be back to meeting at the Paikau Street side of Triangle Park at 8:45 am each week.

Please be sure to bring water to drink and sun/rain protection.

Call Alice at 864-8122 if you have any questions.
