Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

Haleakala National Park and the Pacific Whale Foundation offer you a chance to experience views while helping to restore the native shrublands of the Park.  Volunteers pull weeds and help restore native habitat for endangered birds and plants.  You will get a chance to work in sometimes wet and windy conditions, which can clear to spectacular views of West Maui and the central valley.  Transportation is provided.  Warm clothes, long pants and closed toe boots are required.  Participants meet at  the Harbor Shop, 300 Ma`alaea Road, Ma`alaea Harbor or upcountry at Tavares Community Center, Pukalani.  Call the Pacific Whale Foundation at (808) 249-8811 ext. 1 to reserve your space.
