Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

Our program aims to bridge kūpuna ʻike and modern science through the use of lāʻau lapaʻau. This volunteer opportunity will focus on the upkeep of Ka Wahi a Hāui under the supervision of the Project Coordinator and Land Manager. If you have a passion for removing invasive species so that Native Hawaiian (endemic) species may grow and thrive, then we have a spot for you! Volunteers will also have the opportunity of outplanting native species as well as harvesting them. Volunteers will also get to learn about traditional Hawaiian herbal medicine and everything relevant to that certain lāʻau lapaʻau remedy. Our workdays can be very hot, so we do ask for our volunteers to come prepared with water, hat, sunscreen, and long sleeve shirts and pants.
