The Land Stewardship Manager (full time position) is responsible for the overall planning and execution of all projects, initiatives and functions of Kualoa Land Stewardship Department. Location activities include but are not limited to the valleys of Hakipu`u, Kualoa and Ka`a`awa. General oversight of permanent conservation areas including proper rain shed and natural resource management.
Management and supervision of field workers, and basic interpersonal communications skills. Ability to identify alien plant species from forested and coastal areas and access remote areas for eradication using chemical (herbicide) and/or mechanical methods. Experience with use, maintenance and safety of general landscape hand and power tools. Proper and safe 4 WD Truck and ATV operation. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Able to conduct strenuous fieldwork in weather extremes which may involve extensive walking or hiking in undeveloped areas. Degree in Natural Resource management or related field. 2 years management experience preferred. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Open availability to include weekends & holidays.
